Smilie help needed!

daft question I know, but suddenly I can't insert smilies using my pooter anymore. OK on OH's pooter - have I disabled them somehow or accidently pressed a certain button? You can tell I'm a right technophobe...but hey...can't be brilliant at everything!

scroll down the page to miscellaneous options, check the disable smilies box has not been ticked disabled.

No Tilly it hasn't... and another thing when I use the quote option, I also get all the formatting blurb appearing in the text!!

This first started about a week ago Tills ... hey ho could be just that my pooter is such an antique! Will get number 1 son to look at it for me. Failing that, have snaffled a pooter from where I worked (company gone into liquidation as have my invoices as I was self employed- they owe me £5K!!!!) so once said son can connect everything, hopefully I can crawl into the 21st century! Thanks for your help anyway (imagine a smilie grin!!)
