Well done CG, thats great news.

The health forums are a great idea, but their just not up to speed yet, I'm sure they will be soon. I don't get any emails if any of us update our threads over there and there still seems to be a problem with posting.

I surgest we keep our threads up to date over there, but there is no reason why we can't keep in touch here as well and who knows, we may find a few new members for C.A.G there.

Come on Gizmo, you can do it, if I can anyone can !!!

Hi Gizmo,

No I'm afraid I'm not. Also, I have asked on several occasions to have my old thread here moved across, but no joy yet. I don't think I am the only one, is that right folks ??

Also there are only a number of forums you can keep up with. I think the 'Health Forums' will be a great success BTW, but it is nice to keep in contact with friends here as well.

Hiya Lex,

errrrrrrm !!! not doing too bad. Bit up and down really !!

Still smoking though. Practice nurse said i can start again on the champix as soon as i'm ready. Apparently they only prescribe this to you once and if you fail you dont get a second chance, but they said under the cicumstances they will do it for me, which is good of them. I think i'll wait until may though as that is when the trial starts.

Hope u ok

I'm fine thanks Dobby,

I had a bit of a 'slip' at the end of Jan, but I feel I am back on track now.

If they will only give you the Champix once, you wait till your in the right frame of mind girl. Get all that you can of this terrible thing that has happened to you and your family behind you, then you can look to your future, fag free. (God, you don't know how many of us, here, think of you)

I think you have coped marvelously, all things considered. Just sort yourself out and then think of how to deal with the weed. You know where I am.

That is entirely your choice CG, and you can speak to your friends whever you choose, however all give up smoking dedicated threads are on the health forums.

Maybe you could be helpful and let us know what it is you don't like about the health forums?

And again well done on 15 weeks smoke free

When i joined the give up smoking here thread some time ago on here it was as an aside to another forum i frequented.

I just dont like the way the decision to 'MOVE' us all to another forum was taken without any of us being asked, basically we were kicked off!

p.s thanks for the support

Nobody was kicked off - there was an immmediate alternative, if you wanted your story moved then I believe admin could have helped you do this.

I disagree with you here, the immediate alternative as you call it was the 'only' choice so how was it alternative?
We werent given a choice to stay where we were, were we???

This site is dedicated to consumer issues, and if you wish to discuss your no smoking journey then the health forums are the place to do that. Let your friends know.

I must admit I was gutted when the threads linked through to the new forums. I had a good look around, and joined, but it just didn't feel the same. At the end of the day, it was a bonus to have what we had here. I asked for my thread to be moved too, but it mustn't have been possible. I'm not having a go at CAG at all.

Anyway, I failed due to a moment of weakness in Wales, I lasted a month! You should of seen the dirty looks I got of Tide!

I've stocked up on repeat prescriptions of Champix - so the decion of whether or not I can have Champix again, is removed from the doctor!.

Well done to everyone that is still off the weed.

So then good luck to us all, tell us here how your getting on.

Lex

Hi Lex *waves*

What a good idea.

I know what you mean about the Health Forums - it's extremely frustrating when you don't get subs, smilies and then get fatal errors when you post. So I've done something about it and started a thread over there:-

Site Technical Hitches - Consumer Health Forums

Obviously, we are spoiled on CAG, I mean how often do we have problems with the site? And if there are problems, they are rectified almost immediately.

CAG has a 170K membership, however, the Health Forums are very new and obviously don't have the large amount of "staff" as they do on here. I do get frustrated with the fact that things aren't done straight away but I actually enjoy the fact that it's a new site and the members on there are the forerunners of what may eventually become another 170K membership forum.

I must admit I wasn't happy that there was no discussion regarding the move to the Health Forums but to save admin the time, I just pasted a link to my old thread on my new one and I quite enjoy posting over there now.

I did object to being a Junior Member on there though But over a hundred posts later, I am now a Senior Member so have thrown away my lollipops (along with the fags I might add)

I just nip over there once a day and have a wander through the threads.

Somehow, I have this funny feeling that the CHF No-smoking forum membership may suddenly increase with my next post on my thread as I have discovered another "side effect" of the Champix Not going to post a link to my thread though, you'll have to go find it

Do yourself a favour Thai, have another go with the "dog food". For me, it's been a miracle drug

BTW, I'm actually quite proud of having a Tracker underneath my posts which shows how long I have quit the fags for, for some reason, it really makes me feel good.

BTW Tills - PUT THAT FAG OUT AND PUT THAT HAMMER DOWN

BTW, I have found out today that you can access your old threads here from your user P.C. I don't know why

So I have moved mine over to the Health Forums.

Also I see now that the posting process has been sorted out at last, having just made 40 posts in the the last hour, LoL.
