So far today I haven't let the wife lift a finger. She stayed in bed till 11am, I cooked a huge brunch and the offspring has actually been quite well behaved. Tonight I shall be ordering a large bucket of KFC and wearing the wifes high heels and make up.

Another normal day in the peasant household then

Happy Mothers Day all

You can move in with me anytime! Cooked lunch for 8, prepared it yesterday, so that is the weekend gone! However, considering my old ma was dying from C.Difficile last Mothers Day, it was really a celebration that she is still with us

Thank you Jo ...

My lovely 17-year-old daughter got up at 8am this morning to make me breakfast in bed, after a hard night's work where she got to bed well after midnight. Bless her kind heart ... actions speak louder than words.

She won't ever be reading this but I love her very, very much.

Well I was woken up at 9am (that is a lie in for me) with a card and a bunch of flowers from the monkey and his dad. Dad took the monkey to the park and has amused him for most of the day, I cooked lunch ( a roast, not difficult) and the other half vacuumed through for me, monkey also made a card at nursey, also got a lovely text from my daughter who is at her dads, so a nice day, ready for bed now though and it is only 10pm

Well my day was a mixture of happiness and sadness....

Woke up to a pathway of notes across the hallway from my daughter, directing me to the living room where breakfast was waiting..... croissants & jam, pot of tea, chocolate and so on.... and a present, which was another charm for my bracelet.

Then went to visit my own mother with Altzheimer's, who is now just a shell of her former self. I doubt she recognised me, but will have seen the colour of the plant we brought her and felt the soft touch of the teddy bear left by her bed.

Went out to dinner this evening.... and pigged out on 3 courses !!!!! .... so got out of cooking today ! Need to get back on that treadmill this week though for sure.

Well I spent the morning helping the OH with an urgent printing job, then when we got home he decided to cook dinner for us all. I went upstairs for a lovely relaxing bath with scented candles and all that. Problem is our bathroom is directly above the kitchen so unfortunately the candles were overtaken by the smell of roasting chicken.

All in all a pretty good mothers day.

Hubby cooked or should I say cremated breakfast. 17yr old gave me a card. Then hubby and son went to watch telly leaving me to scrape burnt offerings from pans Other son missing for the passed couple of days so not expecting a card or phone call or anything from him.

Went out for a walk with hubby. I asked if he minded if we pop into a pub to watch the Liverpool match, he didn't, so we did. Then he took me to another pub to have a nice dinner then back to first pub to watch Everton game.

Eventually taxi home where other son had magically appeared! I asked if he had come home to wish me happy mothers day? He replied "No I was hungry"
