Default BBC News - Most ridiculous quote ever

BBC NEWS | England | Derbyshire | Piglet saved from loo roll peril

(The story about the piglet that was found in a lorry when it arrived at a Tesco store)

Quote:
"It was distressing for everybody to see the piglet in such a sorry state."

Are they for real?

When was the last time they took a good look at the store's bacon counter?

Actually, I can see their point. They refer to 'state' but what they actually mean is 'Town'.

The poor little thing was delivered to Ilkeston in Derbyshire. Never mind that is was hurt along the way, just being found there is cause enough for distress.

I was watching BBC news last night. You know how when they're doing a report, they have to have a summary of what they're saying flash up on the big LCD display behind them (because we're all too thick to understand it otherwise), well the chap was talking about the missing DSS database, and if the public should be worried. On the screen behind him, it said "if you use your child's name as your password, change it" ... vaguely amusing.

Another thing journalists do, which I don't see the point of ... In the radio guide in today's Times, the choice program is a documentary on Ella Fitzgerald. It says that she'd have been celebrating her 90th birthday this year, if she'd still been alive. That's like saying that Mozart would have been 250 this year, had he not died in 1798

Companies maybe should be worried about the carriers in question. Can't understand why they are used by such a high profile department.

Apparently so.
They found him with a pile of his original manuscripts, laboriously crossing them out, note by note.

When asked what he was doing, he said, "Decomposing!"
