I just think information should be for every one to view.
| Absolutely.
I tend to reply to PM's on their thread, for that very reason, unless it's clearly of a confidential nature.
It helps keep continuity of the thread.
Any duff/ misleading advice can be picked up immediately.
It discourages people PM'ing needlessly, just because they haven't had a reply within 10 minutes
PM's take longer to reply to cos invariably there is no link to their thread and you have to search to find it first |

Anyone can register on here.
Edit: If you post on the main forum, at least people can spot bad advice. |

| | Platinum Account Customer | Re: Grizzle about personal messages At the risk of sounding insensitive (so what's new...), I feel that people who post on here with the kind of problems they have, have more things to worry about than their shyness/sensitivity/secretiveness. they need to get back on track, send DCAs packing, stop the harassment, reclaim their charges. If they don't realise that their dignity is being stripped from them in a far worse manner by the antics of the money merchants than by describing their problems on thread, (hopefully) hidden behind their anonymous nick, then they have some serious realignment in their thinking urgently needed.
We have had evidence provided of people trying to lure other people into paying for their dubious services. We have had evidence provided of DCAs posing as OPs to try and trick them into revealing their info. We have had evidence provided of seriously poor advice being passed on under cover of the PMs.
We also are the leaders in the consumer fight because we are a community, sharing, discussing, growing. If more advice was provided by PMs, that vibrant community would soon wither and die.
Not a lot ot gain, the hell of a lot to lose, IMO. |
