I am not sentimental about throwing it out, since it is only my step-ladder. I never knew my real ladder; he abandoned us when we were small and I was raised by in the forest by a family of foxes. One day I'll tell you of how we were found by a farmer, of our slow return to civilisation, and the adventures we had along the way. It is a beautiful story; stranger than any fiction.
But do you want this ladder or not? | Barra
As it's not your real ladder, I assume it's a second-hand ladder. Can you tell me more about its background?
I'd be quite interested in having my own ladder. But, after thinking about it for 5 seconds, I'm wondering if I really need one of my own, or if I should just look at renting one. I am dubious of mentioning Wittgenstein in this context, but I feel I should. After all, as he says, ladders are just there to be thrown away.
On this note, I have a perfectly good fly bottle I no longer need. Would you like to exchange it for your ladder? |

And the time has come, as the walrus so wisely said, to get rid of childish things (or was that St Paul? - always getting those two confused).
I'd be willing to include an ice skate in order to seal the deal. I really do want to find a good home for my fly bottle. |
