its okay...

Now its up to you what to do with the claim.

You could try for the whole lot, but this would include risks of the defendants costs.

Alternatively you can sever the claim in 2, say £4900 and then the rest afterwards.

Or you can just leave off anything over the £5000 limit.

Im not sure what is your best approach maybe someone can give some clearer advice?

If it is between £5k and £10k the costs are limited to £500 - and of course that would only come into effect if you were to lose.

Just had another look at the excel spreadsheet..if you put the days since offence in manually then it works out the 8% but surley you shouldnt have to work out the days yourself....any ideas

No, you shouldn't. If you enter the date the charge was incurred in the correct column, in the correct format, this should be worked out for you.

Make sure you enter the date as DD/MM/YYYY (i.e. today would be 14/05/2006)

Try starting with a new spreadsheet, and just add details of one charge - it may be that you have accidentally deleted the formula. If that doesn't cure it, let me know...
