Red face The story so far

I've really been dragging my feet with my reclaim. (Could give lots of reasons why but just wont go there) A lot of my correspondence with the woolwich has been over the phone and I received a final offer of 985 pounds in July. The lady I spoke with informed me that I have paid 4419 pounds in charges in last six years and sent me all my statements for that period. Today I'm sending LBA and will work out the interest if the woolich do not contact me in 14 day period. I must admit, I am finding it difficult but will persevere. Well done to all who are making good progress and best of luck to those, like me, who are still trying.

Right - well just entered all my figures into calculation spreadsheet and claiming from 09/06/00 - 08/06/06. The total figure comes up as 4341.50. Going to roll with this now and insert figures into LBA. Things are moving slowly but surely.

Right, spoke to the bailiff this morning, and what a friendly chap he was....not....got the distinct impression he's on the banks side.

Anyway, he advised me that he visited the local branch, they provided him with the contact details of a person at HO who is 'dealing with it'. It called the person who is 'dealing with it' to be advised that of course he is 'dealing with it'.

I asked if he had provided Woolwich with a timescale in which to get this resolved and he said no, he was satisfied that the Woolwich will resolve it. I said I didn't feel this was acceptable, and he said it doesn't matter what you think about it, I'm happy with what they've said.

Not really sure what to do now. I will give it a couple of weeks and get back onto the bailiff again.

I think your bailiff's attitude sounds outrageous. Does anyone here know how to complain about a bailiff?

(Still outraged)

Does this mean that if I ever get a bailiff knocking at MY door demanding money that I owe, all I have to say is, "I'm dealing with it", and he'll go away?? Somehow I don't think so.

There is a fantastic baliff and debt collectors section on this site.
And no.......you dont tell the Baliff to go away you just dont open the door or leave windows or doors open to let them in !

Ok, I have news. having let this slip somewhat I called the Baliff today for news, and he said, 'what you haven't had your money yet?'. Apparently the Woolwich sent a cheque to the baliff for the full amount, which they have banked, and a bankers draft has been issued to me.....I haven't received it yet, but any day now.

I am so excited!

Thanks so much for everyone's help, and of course to CAG, without which this may not of been possible for me.

Once the money is received a donation will made to keep this wonderful site going.
