Been reading more of the treasury report, when collected information then obviously wrote to various banks and this passage is contained in a further memorandom by the chief cheif executive of barclays, maybe this is why they dont want to go to court?

INFORMATION ON LATE PAYMENT AND OVER LIMIT FEES
I agreed that I would see if I could provide the Committee with information on the amount of money collected in late payment and over-the-limit fees. The email also requests additional information.
From a customer's perspective, when they take a credit card from us we have an obligation to treat them reasonably and fairly. In turn, the customer has an obligation to stay within the credit limit we set and to make appropriate repayments to us when due. If customers exceed their credit limit or fail to make their repayments (both of which are under their control), this increases our administrative costs and potentially our risk. It is quite reasonable for us to levy a charge in these circumstances.
I am sorry that I am unable to provide you with any further information. We feel very strongly that it is confidential, competitive information and as such should not be disclosed to any third party. As you will appreciate, we do not release this information in detail to our shareholders via our accounts, and therefore we are unable to supply it to you.
