Yo uneed to follow a set procedure to ensure that you have the best chance of getting the data and your moeny back.
You should send the S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) and incude the tenner, thats the max they can charge. the SAr sets out what you want formally, if you havent included the same info in your letters then they are worthless and the bank can ignore them and your request.
Giving them 14 days may be ok assuming your orignal approach was ok, if not then i suspect the best course of action is to go back to the start, do not pass go and do not collect 200 pounds!
If you havent done so already, try reading the faqs there is a step by step guide in there which sets out the best procuedre.
Finally, dont rely on what the bank says it will do, they are not your freinds, you may end up in court suing them. Do things legally then if you do end up in court you have the best chance of getting your moeny back.

Ps it is true that some banks are not charging, this is at thier discretion, if you dont send the payment they dont have to process your S.A.R - (Subject Access Request). If you do and they dont cash it thats thier problem. If youve offered then you have compied with what the courts would expect you to do.
