dx748 v Barclaycard A bit of a strange one this..... After requesting my statements (without enclosing the obligatory tenner - muppet!) I sent a P.O. and the formal Data Protection Act request. On the 24 April 2007 I received a letter out of the blue offering £504 as a goodwill gesture! Bearing in mind that I had nothing to base this figure on whatsoever as I had no statements, after a telephone call I established that this offer was based on the difference between my charges and the £12 'recommendation' excuse that these guys are using. I issued the partial offer rejection letter on 25 April 2007, also highlighting that the OFT £12 suggestion may or may not reflect any actual or real loss and inviting them to detail their liquidated costs so I can reconsider their offer. (Clearly this won't happen!). I reitterated that I still require my statements requested previously. On 30 April 2007 I received statements dating back to June 2004 ONLY. Attached was the usual microfiche letter regarding the older statements and they would follow in 'around' six weeks. Charges on the statements I have so far total around £880 and I have written to reitterate that we are continuing to work to the 40 day deadline. They have until early June now for the remainder to the statements so I guess it's a waiting game at the moment?
