FREEPOST LON13542
London

My Ref: BC250506
Date: 25 May 2006

Data Protection Act 1998
Subject Access Request

Dear Sir/Madam

Account number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Account holder: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Please supply me with a complete list of transactions and charges relating to my bank account since its inception. Alternatively, a complete set of bank statements for that period will be acceptable.

Additionally, where there has been any event in my account history over this period which has required manual intervention by any member of your staff, or any other person, I require disclosure of any indication or notes which have either caused or resulted in that manual intervention, or other evidence of that manual intervention in relation to my banking business with you.

If you are unable to supply this data because there has been no such manual intervention, then please be so kind as to confirm this in your response.

I enclose the statutory maximum fee of £10. You have 40 days in which to comply. Furthermore, if I discover that you have levied disproportionate penalties against me, then I shall be reclaiming them, and also reclaiming the enclosed £10 Data Protection Act subject access request fee.

If there is specific information which you require in order to satisfy yourself as to my identity, please let me know by return. However please note that the above address is the one which you normally use to communicate my private business to me and which you have hitherto found to be acceptable.

Yours faithfully,"

I have received today a standard letter from Barlcaycard. The issue around May 04 doesnt apply to me as I opened this account in July 04 (so they had to tell me everything). I got a very large print out attached - will go through tomorrow and see what the charges are.

Letter received:
"Further to your request for personal data held by Barclaycard, please find enclosed a copy of the relevant information from May 2004.

Under the Data Protection Act we are required to produce personal information held about customers if it is held electronically or in a relevant filing system. Account statements dated prior to May 2004 are held on microfiche, they are not structered by reference to criteria relating to individuals and therefore these statements are not held in a relevant filing system under the Data Protection Act and are therefore not required to be produced.
They can be obtained from our Customer Services Depart at a cost of £3 per statement.

This informationis complete in respect of the above account relationship with you at the time of extraction."

Surely the data protection act includes all data - whether held on Microfiche or not

From the information I have recieved, coupled with my prolific complaining to Barclaycard - it seems all charges they tried to make were refunded to me anyway.... so theres no further action with this one!!
