Default Chimera v Barclaycard

SEnt them an e-mail on thursday.. got this response... so written them a lovely letter... very interested to know how many charges have been made... have even been told by an unbiased dedt advisor and his manager that BARCLAYCARD are the worst debt to have, and they are very unfair...

Dear Ms Chapman,

Thank you for your e-mail.
As your query is account specific, I need to look into your account for effective assistance. Hence, may I request you to please e-mail us via the secure channel, which is through 'Contact Us', from within 'My Account', on our website, or by selecting the relevant option found under 'Account Actions' in the menu bar on the left hand side of the screen, also from within 'My Account'
on our website.
Alternatively you can call Barclaycard Customer Services (24 hours, seven days a week) on telephone number 0870 1540154, or ++ 44 1604 234234 from abroad. When calling the Customer Services number, press 0 and you will be transferred to a Customer Account Manager.
If your account is not registered for our on-line service, click on the following
hyperlink:
https://bcol.barclaycard.co.uk
Then click on the button 'Register for My Account'. You will be presented with a registration form, asking for details from your last statement, to complete and submit. Once this has been done and your registration is successful you will be given a nine digit log-on I.D. you will then be able to log-on and access your account on-line. Effective immediately. However, should you have any problems registering, simply call Barclaycard Internet on (++ 44 ) 0161 9535501 and any one of our Customer Account Managers will be able to assist you.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and trust you understand the strict security protocols we have to follow.

Kindest regards

I got a letter from the barclay card people asking me to send them £10 for the charge summary (I was a bit cheeky and didn't send it as I didn't have the money at the time!)

They say
"Please note that stements that are prior to the 2004 are not held on a computer syustem or a structed relevant filing system, and therefore they do not fall under the data protection act 1998. They can be obtained from our customer Services Department at a cost of £3 per statemen."

Any ideas??? I thought it was illegal to hold data unless your egisted it with the Data Protection Act??? HOw do I proceed???

I got a letter back today from Barclaycard explaining that they could not send me a list of statements prior to May 24 using the excuse of Microfiche. I did not request statements but a list of charges. The odd thing is they did not send back my £10 cheque nor have any mention of it but did advise me to send £3 per copy statement.

Can anyone help as I am getting confused now with Barclaycard and what I should do now.

Yep.. They ddin't specify the Microfiche excuse to me... but I presume that's what they are going on about..

Do we get the statements from 2004, and then fight to get the rest of the statements... Two seperate claims??

Home now.. and just re-read letter.. usual stuff about microfiche in response to my second letter - modded from abbey microfiche letter...

Plus:
Should you have any further questions regarding this matter please do not hesitate to contact me. If my reply does not meet with your expectations you may ultimately be eligible to refer to the Financial Ombudsman service.

If I have not heard from you within 8 weeks from the date of this letter, I will close my file in accordance with usual practice.

Anyone else got this response...
