Re: Can I do this? really old account Hello Mads, welcome to the forum.
There's a bit of debate about the so-called 6 year time limit. It's a little complicated, but essentially it is a forward looking rule, not a retrospective one. In other words, you have six years to make a claim from when you find out about it, not necessarily from when the charges occured. I must stress that this approach is somewhat experimental at this time, but a good example is the way in which people are suing fag companies for getting them hooked in the fifties. What you need to be able to demonstrate is that they knew their charges were unlawful way back when.
A couple of the moderators, plus some others on the forum are about to put this theory to the test. If you don't feel confident about squaring up to a big bank in a case which we fully expect them to defend in court, and you can stand to wait a while longer, I suggest you keep an eye on the forum and see what transpires over the next couple of months.
