Default Barclay Card Deleted My Data - Scottish Claim

Hi,

Iam new to the site and was looking for some assistance.

I have not been a customer of barclaycard since I left University 3 years ago and was wondering if you could help me with a few questions.

- Can i still make a claim even though Iam not a "customer/victim" anymore?
- Is the process for chasing a English based credit card any different for someone living in Scotlabd in terms of where the letter is initially sent?

Any help would be greatfully appreciared

Regards

Nuno

Yes - a PO is fine, make sure it has the Bank's Name as payee printed on it. Keep the Counterfoil, and await their response.

Assuming it is Barclaycard, it would be Barclays Bank Plc

I phoned to ask they recieved okay.

The person said he couldnt possibly remember off the top of his head my letter (I know you cant - but do you not have computers for logging letters?).

I was told they were literally receiving thousands of letters each day and a site had been opened elsewhere (not Northampton) to help deal with the requests.

He said he would take my details and chase up the information for me.

I await the response.

Got another phonecall this morning.

They say (despite me having a signed reciept from Royal mail) that they didnt received a letter from me.

Lady (very nice/helpful) said to give it another 7 days then speak to her again directly. She would then try to get them out as a matter of urgency.

40 days clock is still ticking.

I have a direct contact at Barclays and she seems a nice lady.

I will give her the benefit of the doubt on this one and send my letter to her again.

When was the last time a bank gave you the benefit of the doubt? To avoid more hassles later I'd stick in one of the non-compliance letters linked to in post #14.

You've proof they received the letter, you shouldn't have to wait because of their inability to keep your letter safe.

Hmm. Not sure where you go with this one. Did you send them all previous addresses, date of opening/closing the account, date of birth and anything else that they might have used to locate the details?
