Default Reaver V's Barclaycard! How much longer must I wait?

Hey ALL!!

I sent Barclaycard my data request back on the 28th August 2006, to which they replied on 14th septmber 2006 saying the usual thing about microfiche and only provided me statements from after my account was closed?!?!? They also gave me a 8 week time period to order the £3 microfiche statements before my data request file would be closed.

So I sent a letter after reading the Barclaycard & Microfiche - they are wrong - OFFICIAL thread, back on the 7th january 2007!!!

I'm still waiting for any useful information from Barclaycard!!! Should I send Another £10 data request? I think I shouldn't really have to pay again. Still waiting though....

Will let you all know what happens.

Oh and not to mention the fun I had with the dept. I was pestered with loads of those nasty letter for a couple of years. I ended up paying a dept collector in person at the door £20 per month. After a while I wised up and found out from barclaycard the dept was actually sold to Caboot a while back. So I'd been paying the dept collector at the door, who'd been paying barclaycard, who'd been paying Caboot?!?!

I sorted this out early 2006 and set up a £20 standing order, which later became a £25 standing order afeter I missed a payment. You can tell their phone staff are trained simply to get "£5 more,£5 more!!" out of you.

Although after hearing the amount I owe last time........I have a sneaking susipsion they're charging interest. I must call up I guess and find out, Or maybe just send the letter to ask them NOT to charge interest??

Oh Barclaycard will regret the day they crossed THE REAVER!!!

Hey bobsp.

Many thanks there for the link. They are obviously just trying to stall, and after the trouble they caused me!!! From another thread I found someone who already complained. the information comissioner said

"In addition, section 13 of the Act gives individuals the right to claim compensation if they have suffered damage as a result of a contravention of the Act"

So I should be to do a claim for this, I was reading another thread about this but cant find the link right now.
Question: could I include this in my claim for the charges or would I have to do a separate claim?

Many thank.

Hi,

Sounds promising! When did you complained to information commissioners office? Oh and who's this Adrian Whalley?
Are you going to go after compensation under the data protection act?

I emailed him and complained to the Information Commissioners Office at the same time. I let him know I had complained to the Information Commissioners Office, and how dissapointed I was in having to go down thst route, but B/Card had left me with no alternative etc...

I also attached a copy of the Subject Access Request.

Hey Tanzarelli!?

Going to send the 'account in dispute' and 'CCA'(once I've looked at it) letters off to barclaycard and cabot.

Should a Dept Colection Agency charge interest on a bought dept? How can I find out(an Subject Access Request?)? What can I do about it??

Cheeeeeeeers
