Default Melrose vs Barclaycard

Sent my S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) letter on 29 January 2007 and received a letter (plus my cheque back) today. Letter says:

1) Bank is under no obligation to present information according to any particular format, therefore my request for a schedule of charges is turned aside

2) I can though, obtain that data from copy statements that will be supplied in the next few weeks.

3) Statement information prior to 2000 is stored manually rather than computer, therefore if account was prior to this (opened in 1997) there may be an increase in time to collate information

4) A copy of my letter has been forwarded to Barclaycard.

Time to sit back and wait. Game on.

Hello Melrose:

Thanks.

I sent it to:

The letter I received back was from:

Tel: 01565 614000

Hope that helps.

It seems to be the same place as the Barclays Bank address.

Interesting.

I'm sending two different letters for my Barclays/Woolwich accounts and another address for the Barclay card visa account.

I'll keep them separate and perhaps they will end up with the same claim in the end.

THanks.

Default Re: Melrose vs Barclaycard

Received a very untidy handwritten addressed envelope this morning with nothing else apart from the postage frank on it. Nearly chucked it in the bin but opened it and discovered it was from Barclaycard.

Someone in their photocopying department has decided to send me a copy of my original S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) (which has been date stamped 14 February 2007) with some more ineligible pencil writing saying 'No Chq'

A compliment slip is included saying 'NO CHEQUE INCLUDED PLEASE SEND'

Now having thought I'd got off to a good start with these boys, getting an acknowledgement within a week, my cheque being returned and being told that my letter had been forwarded to Barclaycard (who I thought I'd sent it to in the first place) I have been patiently waiting for my statements. Only for me to discover sheer incompetence.

Surely sticking my cheque in with the letter forwarded to 'Barclaycard' would have taken no more than a second and I wouldn't be sat here now looking at this, quite comically done, response.

My original cheque and letter will be resent today with a compliment slip of my own with a nice message on it.

Things never get any easier.

Have been reading through the threads before sending S.A.R - (Subject Access Request)'s and wondered if anyone could give me correct addresses for Woolwich (now Barclay's) Barclaycard Mastercard and Barclaycard Visa. Thank you.
