Default Old Barclaycard debt

Hi all,

About 2 years ago i moved house and in the process forgot one thing, to let barclaycard know about my address change.
Time went by and after a while i thought oh well they have had thousands from me in interest alone, i think they have had enough.
The debt wasnt massive £900 to be exact as i had paid a couple of thousand off it a few months before.
Thing is im sligtly worried now that they are going to find me or a DCA that is acting agent witha big bill in hand. I contemplated sending them an Subject Access Request first because i have over a thousand in charges on the account, but im just not sure what to do.
Send Subject Access Request and reclaim the money then pay the debt or just leave it, and if a do leave it will they in about four - five years find me ?

do you have all your statements? if so dont bother with the Subject Access Request. It appears that you are owed more than you owe them so you are in a win win situation.

They will more than likely find you anyway as i was found by Lowell on behalf of Capital One 4 years later.

They did me a favour because the charges outweighed what i owed them.

I would contact them and get details - claim the charges and pay the debt - that way there will be no nasty surprises down the line - they will find you eventaully and wreck your credit rating - if they haven't already. Getting a copy of your credit files from Experian and Equifax is a goodstart.

Thanks guys,

no i havnt got all the old statements so i would need to do a Subject Access Request, strange thing is the debt was 12 months old (ie unpaid) when i applied for a mortgage and at that point i got myself a Credit file from experian.
On looking through this there was no record of barclaycard and certainly no debt.
My mortgage advisor asked if there would be any nasty surprises and i told him about the barclaycard situation. He was baffled like me and couldnt understand why there was no indication of unpaid statements.
Anyway i applied for the mortgage and got it first time (i was surprised)
All my other credit cards showed up everytime i paid each month, but the barclaycard had disappeared altogether.

weird huh ?
