Default Barclaycard cant find my account Part 2

I used to have student barclaycard which was opened in 12/11/98 and closed after making a full settlement in 20/12/2001. But unfortunately i cannot recollect the account number. I rang the customer service who are unable to trace my account number. The card currently reflects on credit record. I was wondering " am i stuck " or what can do to trace this account. Pls advise as i calculated that i am owed at least £300.00

Write in the form of a Data Protection Act rwquest giving all name and address deatils for that account. Enclose £10.
Also you could make a credit file disclsoure request which may contain the account details.

Received a letter form Barclays.

Story so far

1, Cant remember account number, called customer service who could not help and was advised to write in

2, Made request for Data Protection Act enclosed a £10.00 cheque.

3, Received a reply ( please advise , where do we go from here now).

Dear Mr xxxxxxxxxx

I refer to your letter of 23rd march, which was passed to me for comment due to your mention of the data protection act.

Unfortunately the bank is unable to trace any information concerning your former Barclaycard account. Your advise as to old account number ( which i dont know myself) would be of assistance in this respect. However, the period which you have requested copy statement pre dates barclaycard's current system of computerised storage and would involve a manual process to reproduce this particular material. In these circumstance , the information would therefore fall outise of the subject information provisions of the Data protection act and be subject to the normal tariff charge of £3 per statement per month
.

Yours Sincerely

Where do i go from here now. Please advise
