Default MR2Phil -vs- Barclaycard **FASTEST WIN EVER!!**

Hey,

Thought I'd start a thread on my latest fight. Barclaycard have actually been pretty quick so far. Sent my Subject Access Request off and received statements well within the 40 day mark.

Excitably worked out that they owe me nearly £500 in charges, current outstanding balance on the card is less than £400. I offered them an easy, early settlement of the outstanding balance. I thought they might go for this as they'd realise that they're only going to end up paying the whole amount, plus interest, plus court costs etc...but, of course, back they came with their standard "Bog off" letter. Are they that stupid?! With interest and fees it'll end up over £700!!

LBA went off yesterday...bring it on! Received similar letter from Egg as well so they've got one too!

No, not at the moment. That was another one of my bargaining chips...that if they didn't refund me what I was after, I would go the whole hog. They offered £140 out of £470 total. I said I'd settle at £360 and now waiting on that before court. LBA went off on Monday so a while to go yet.

With interest they could end up paying over £600, then adding court costs etc...!

Hi Phil,

When claiming CI, you should include it on your POC and claim it in the Prelim and the LBA.

If you want the CI (check and see if it makes a big difference on your claim), you'd best send new Prelim and LBA.

Too late, Slick! I would just like to say....this MUST be the fastest victory EVER!!

Prelim went off on Wednesday, rejection letter came back Friday. LBA went off on Monday, letter offering MORE than I was asking for arrived yesterday!!! Whooooooo-hoooooooo!

Yeah, I could've asked for all the interest, total would have been £611, but I was only asking for, first of all £360 for a quick settlement, then £470 in the LBA (full amount), but they offered £510.

Bonus!

Admin, please change thread title...I would advise anyone else to strike Barclaycard while they're feeling generous! Letter I used below:

Barclaycard

Barclaycard House
Massey Road
Stockton on Tees

Ha ha! Hiya SS Lady! Yeah, I'm still floating about! Dunno if you saw, but I had a court case ongoing since November...settled a couple of weeks ago and got away with paying less than 50% of what they were claiming, which I was more than happy with, now this! Egg are not being quite as quick, then it's onto Ikano Financial...I think that'll be about it, it'll be a shame!

How are you doing? Had any sweet successes?!

Oh yes, a little while yet!

No win as big as the original claim that brought me here back at the start of 2007...I wouldn't mind another injection of cash like that!

Good to hear about your two recent wins! And you have 5999 posts! Whooooo!

There really isn't anything! I'm scraping the barrell going after Ikano! It only occurred to me when I was checking my Ikea statement for the month and saw a £12 charge...I thought "Hmmm...wonder how many more there are...!" I doubt it'll even be £100.
