Default Barclaycard

Hi, I apologise if this question has been addressed before but I have read the FAQ and scanned through this section and could not see an answer.

I am wondering if I am able to claim back the full £20 for both late payment and over limit charges?

I have read somewhere that the credit card companies are somehow able to legally justify a charge of £12 and so can only hope to claim back £8 for each charge. Is this correct?

Also, am I able to claim back the interest on these charges at the barlaycard rate or only at 8%?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Nick

Yes you can claim the full £20 on both.

The 8% interest is only claimed once you file at the Small Claims Court

Are you sure you've read the FAQs? There's a step by step guide there too.

Thanks for you reply,

I am glad we can still claim the full amount - I though the situation might have changed.

I realise I can only charge interest if I go to court but was just wondering if the 8% figure is set in stone.

I will do some more reading, thanks again for your help.

Nick
