Angry A & L wont allow us to close Accopunt

We have had a current account with the A& L for several years, earlier this year our financial circumstances changed leaving us in the unfortunate situation of incurring Bank Charges.

We now owe them about £500, most of which is a collection of thier overdraft charges against us. We have tried to close the account and consider a payment settlement, but they wont allow us to close the account, keeping us in a situation where we continue to incur these repeat charges.

Any advice om how we can close account will be much appreciated!

They also took £180 from our sperate child saver account ?

Ok you need to send the S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) and get your statements then send the prelim letter requesting your charges back. All this of course after you have read the FAQS and Step by Step Instructions.

I believe it may be in the small print regarding them transfering money, you will need to check this out. Once you have cleared the balance they will close the account.
