Richburns - Eon Authorised Officers Have had the following letter placed in my postbox on 03/05/08:
We act as authorises Officers of EON Energy Limited and your account has been passed to us for collection.
We call today to your unpaid account, the details are shown above.
As we are unable to gain access we now serve notice of our intention to make applications for a Warrnat of Entry (Gas and Electricity Boards) Act 1954, Section 2, from the Magistrates Court, to enter the premises and disconnect the supply or fit a prepayment meter if it is safe to do so. The warrant gives us authority to enter your premises without your consent if necessary, we may be assisted by the police.
If the warrant is actioned the costs of £230.00 will be charged to you. This will need to be paid, along with your electricity charges up to the date your supply is disconnected, before we can arrange reconnection.
I spoke to eon today unaware that I had this letter in my postbox (been at my boyfriends) and told them I had paid £60 today and could I make arrangements for the outstanding balance, they agreed with this.
However, I am concerned that the Officer could of taken action already with the courts, can he do what is stated above? I am at work all day so wouldn't let him in but I live in an apartment building and my meter is in the corridor, what if someone else lets him in? Also, the bill is in my name but I have a flat mate (who doesn't know I have an outstanding balance). |
