Default norwich union problems

I had an accident in my car where the other driver accepted liabiltity, he is insured by Norwich Union, i sent the details of the driver to my insurers as i am fully comp and they told me Norwich Union are dealing with it, because they accept liability.
So my insurers had Norwich Union call me, when they called i asked for a reference number for the claim and was told i could not have this. Data protection.
I called my insurers and ask them the name of the driver and they could not give me this data protection.
So i do not have my car repaired, my insurers wont deal with it (churchill) because Norwich union are dealing with it, the idiot in India who is supposed to deal with it is refusing to give me any details. I have asked for a letter to be sent they refuse.
I have now hired a car at £60 per day, nobody is getting in touch, so what do i do.
I called the driver on the day of the accident so i will have is number on my bill, so i could put this all on him, well i will put this all on him. Does anybody know a short cut where Norwich union can sort this out.

hi mdsleic
My name is Becca Sibley and I work for NU, if you are happy to send me details i will see what I can find out and get you an update.

My email address is rebecca.sibley@norwich-union.co.uk and if you are able to send me your name and car details and if you can remember the date of the accident and any details about our policy holder (I know its a lot of info, but the more we have the easier to find details) I'd be grateful.

Thanks in advaince, and I'm sorry you are left feeling so frustrated

Hi mdsleic.

In case you have any doubts, Becca is known to CAG and is genuine. I recommend that you take up her offer...... could be your short cut.
Good luck.

Regards, Rooster.

I feel your pain, unfortunately there are many issues with the Over Seas handlers at NU.....I know, I've been there. (Rude, no empathy etc)

The trouble is they will not deviate from the script, and yes, they will ask you to answer Data Protection Act which all insurers do by law, its a thing that's needed!

However if they had your details this should have sufficed!

I am suprised that they did not accept the date of loss, your vehicle reg and your name as proof!?

I hope the lady above helps you out, she seems nice! and good luck!
