Default Car Insurance advice needed

Does anybod know how I can get round this.

Our car insurance was due for renwal in December 2007. My son was very ill at the time(diagnosed with type 1 diabetes)and neede alot of TLC. we knew insurance was due but just didnt have time to look into it. My son is now feeling better and getting on with his new life so I decided to look in to our insurance.
Last year hubby had a minor prang and with 3 speeding points from 2004 insurance for him is actually quite high. It went up by £30 a month. I have found a cheaper insurance policy for me t bem ain driver even though i am only a learner but It seems Norwich Union want £52 to cancel. I am flat broke for a little while now and want to know the best way around this as if I change i will be looking at paying £177 all in all

Any advice please

Yes they are still my insurer. I havent actually cancelld or changed anything as yet as it seems I cant actually afford to. They seem to have me over a bit of a barrel. To be perfectley honest I am not all that geat on insurance subjects.

Then they have calculated for the period they have been on risk which can & often is more than your payments to date. So & I suggest £52 is cheap to get out of the contract.

Failing paying that sum you will have no alternative but to take your car of the road until your finances are better
