1245 PM on the 30 may 2007.recived my offer of settlement,and i cant stop laughing. i claimed £4037 and the offer is for £472.50.

i have the scissors handy, and a nice new envelope and stamp.the letter is stateing the difference between the £12 charge and the usual ex gratia basis......... blah blah blah......

its on its way back to them today, post haste, with the thanks but no thanks letter.

yes definately for the that amount how do they get to this figure ?? I sent them a letter about two weeks ago saying I would consider £4.50 for bounced cheques and paid item charge and £2.50 for failed dd and unauthorised borrowing I sent a copy of the bbc article showing they had actually settled someones claim for that. I did it cos I would of considered that fair (I ran my account badly so there must be a little bit of discomfort!! lol) No response, how rude!!! So now am trying to be tough about this cos they did offer me about half my claim which is over £6,000 if they had offered 100's rather than 1000's then I would not of worried that I was doing the right thing. Still not convinced and know it will take ages now cos court is very behind. Its gone to the judge for directions but that will be about four weeks!!!! she said ring if not heard at the end of June.

Hope yours goes a bit quicker for you...

I sent my offer cheque back yesterday with a letter saying thanks but no thanks. In the end I got my son to pop it the postbox as it was staring at me all weekend and I kept wrestling with myself over whether to accept it.

I could not sleep last night thinking bout this :o dont know why cos what wll be will be kept thinking how they must be planning all this at wragges and when I was doing business accounts for Lloyds TSB to claim the address is same road as wragges think they all hang out together plotting in wine bars in birmingham at lunchtime!!!

just one thing,reading all the threads i notice the a & l freedom fighters, are dealing with wragge and co more often.i have not e mailed or snail mailed them.all my dealings are with the bank in bootle.should i contact them?..................:c onfused:

dont think ill bother with wragges!!! ill see what bootle do with this returned cheque 1st.posted yesterday........delivere d today i hope.will chek on royal mail sight later,so will hope for a response within the nxt week.also monday is deadline for lloyds to acknowledge my other claim so will be asking for a default win monday eve.will let you know how it goes

no there does not appear to have been any settled claims for ages, I had a look on penalty charges forum and there have been none since end of april - do you think it has got anything to do with it seeming to be dealt with more by solicitors instead of litigation lot at A & L. I gave them a ring to check they had had the claim served etc and the lady (Jackie McGuirk) said it was not one of hers then got letter from sols. I somethimes have a dubious opinion of sols really they make work for a reason (fees

)

Just one win for one of us would be "ledgend" as my son would say...

its not worrying me.think im just getting a bit impatient as i have the lloyds one up on monday.i now want to be the ledgend.........gonna get on the phone to bootle and put some pressure on, if they have recieved my returned offer this morning,then i think a call or two wont hurt ..............speak later
