Alliance & Leicester Meet other A&L Bank customers who have also been faced with excessive unfair bank charges. They FSA see A&L as one of the weak links in the present bank liquidity crisis. Is it you or the A&L which is spending beyond their means?

Apparantly it depends when the account was active. As mine was closed before 2003, it is still held with A&L. Newer ones are with MBNA.

Ooo that makes it confusing. My account was closed in 2004 and I remember receiving a letter saying that MBNA would be looking after the account. perhaps I'll write to both.

It might be MBNA then. If you call them someone should be able to confirm what the cut off date was for them taking over.

They were quite helpful when I called them.
