Alliance & Leicester Meet other A&L Bank customers who have also been faced with excessive unfair bank charges. They FSA see A&L as one of the weak links in the present bank liquidity crisis. Is it you or the A&L which is spending beyond their means?

Question Success with A&L

Hi all,

I recently went through the rigmarole with A&L over an unjustified charge of £34 for exceeding my overdraft (their fault). After using the excellent template letters on this site, they refused to play, and so I hit them with Moneyclaim Online.

They returned the documents stating that they would defend all the claim, and then , on Friday, I received a cheque for the amount in full (but they wouldn't admit they had been in the wrong).
They also said they would be contacting me because I won't abide by their T's & C's - I assume from this that they are going to close my account.

Next question is, how do I go about stopping the Moneyclaim Online process? I've been on their site, but cannot find any way to stop the process - can anyone help please?

Just drop the court a letter saying A&L have settled in full. I don't think you receive a AQ unless defence posted?

Sorry re-read that. I have twice sent small claim and A&L posted defence and then settled. I just wrote to Court stating this and that was the end of the matter. Of course A&L also notify Court they have settled.
