| | Basic Account Customer | Re: alliance&leicester reply i got this morning. we acknowledge receipt of your complaint about charges for unauthorised overdrafts.we beleive that your complaint concerns the level, fairness or lawfulness of the charges. although we believe the charges are fair, transparent and lawful,a number of current account providers have now become involved in legal proceedings with the office of fair trading in relation to charges for unauthorised overdrafts.we believe this test case will resolve the legal issues regarding the fairness and legality of your charges. alliance & leicester is not one of the banks and building societies in the test case.however, this is an issue where customers,as well as the financial service industry as a whole, would welcome legal clarity. it would be our normal approach to resolve your complaint through our internal complaints process as quickly as possible.however, until the determination of the legal issues in the above proceedings,we have asked FSA to suspend the normal timetable for dealing with complaints about charges, the FSA have agreed to this request. in view of this court case we have asked both FOS and the courts not to proceed with any other case they are hearing until the case is resolved.FOS has indicated that as a general proposition it will indeed not proceed with cases which rely on the egal issues being considered in the test case.similarly, you should be aware that if you choose to issue a claim in the county courts,we intend to apply to the court for an order to stay your action until resolution of the legal proceedings with the OFT. rest of letter just says, they wil look at my complaint when the verdict is published.
it doesnt say,its going to stop charging me daily.so its just going to go up all the time.
were do i go now.do i make the spreadsheet out and start charging them daily or what? |
