Default A&L, jsa and bank charges

Hi People,

this is my first post
I am not quite sure what do next.

Durring June 2006 and November 2007, I was receiving jsa into my AL account.

Between july and october AL took all monies from my jsa from my account. They served 2 default notices and nearly closed the account.

I had no money to live on from the above action by AL during those months.

I had about 3 other occasions that charges were directly from jsa.

When I originally raised this with AL they have said i have to do an income and expenditure form.

I have used the ssa 1992 act in my defence with them and which I now know from steven4064's posts that is incorrect.

My major problem being is being

a) July - September 06 was extreme hardship and that trying explain "income and expenditure" to al for that period is nigh on impossible.

b) hardship during periods of October 06 and November 07 where I was receiving benefit and other income during those periods. But monies where taken when no other income was there except jsa.

I know one should deal with this during but that's sometimes easier said than done.

How do I convince AL that I had no expenditure during that period because they had taken all of my jsa.

Thanks
Taras

Default Re: A&L, jsa and bank charges

When doing an income and expenditure your expenditure is the monthly bills that you are facing eg food, rent, utlity bills, loans etc. It is to work out how much you can afford to pay back each month.

Have you made a claim for your charges or are you using the charges in your defence?

All the best
