Red face Help! I seem to have taken on a Bank!!

Help, I have to admit I'm a little scared right now, any calming words of re assurance would be good from anyone who's gone through this. The A&L are defending my claim for charges (£700 incl costs!)and have sent their defence through to me, it's completely un intelligable legalise. I'm worried I've started something that I shouldn't have. I guess that's their plan, but being an ordinary Joe it's a little scarey. I've not even had a parking ticket before and now I'm getting a document that starts ''Save insofar as the same consists of admissions and save insofer...etc etc'' Their defence seems to be and I quote ''The charges are administrative fees ....'' I thought that's exactly what we are all fighting against. The fact that £34 for a bounced cheque can't possibly be all admin costs. I havn't a clue what will happen to me next. Any advice or support would be great please.

Despite the scare tatics I do intend to see it through to the absolute bitter end. Wish me luck.

first of all read through the threads on A&L forum , FAQ and step by step instructions. The defence is usually about 6 pages long and 23 points.

They are taking us all to the wire at the moment and only settling at the last moment so be prepared for a fight.

Read as much as you can and then come back and ask questions.

Hi there Calligula

welcome to the forum.

don't be worried/unsettled by the Defence.

I know the feeling when it drops through the letterbox in that large brown envelope, and you open it and think Oh My God, What have i done ?

We all receive a similar Defence document.
(although they are beginning to tweak them a little)

Go to my Thread

here is WRAGGES 6 PAGE DEFENCE

and have a look through that,
it will settle your nerves, and make you realise we all receive similar stuff.

My reason for typing mine in,
was because I felt like you - the day I received the Defence
very worried, and quite sick
and I thought if I typed my Defence into the Forum,
we could all compare notes and pool our resources
and settle one anothers nerves !

Don't worry.
Everything will be fine
We're all here to help, advise, and jolly you along !

hi calligula,
me again

if you claimed via mcol (on line)
you will receive a Notice from Northampton Court,
advising that they have issued your claim and the date it was served.

It will then be transferred from Northampton to your Local Court.
You will receive notice from Northampton Court of the date is was transferred.

You will then receive a Notice from your Local Court,
advising of the Court Date
and any information that the Court will require.

At the moment Northampton County Court, is requesting that Allocation Questionnaires be dispensed with.

It is however, up to the Judge at your Local County Court
whether this is dispensed with - and entirely his decision.

The Local Court will advise you in due course, exactly which documents they require from you.

Good Luck
and any questions, or problems,
just keep asking
