Default A&L Cancel Direct Debits - ****WON!!!****

I am in the middle of claiming off A&L. I've sent the LBA and will be filing moneyclaim this week.
I've just received a letter from the council to say that my DD has been cancelled.
I guess this is A&L getting arsey, the account has money in and there is no reason for them to cancel anything, but surely they should give me some notice of this first?
I'm off to the bank now to see what else they've cancelled.
Any ideas for a snotty letter I can send them guys??

Getting a bit annoyed now. I submitted my claim at the courts on 17th August and they have acknowledged the claim but I still haven't received a cheque Yet I've notice other people submitted their claims after mine and are getting paid out. Any advice guys?

Best advice at the moment would be to 'wait an see', dude. With so many court claims against them it must be difficult for them to keep up!

What's the state of play regarding cancelled DD's, if you don't mind me bein nosey?

Still not received a cheque and they only have till tomorrow to submit a defence, which, as far as I'm aware, they never have.
Looks like this is going to run for ages. Why are other people submitting claims after me and getting paid by now??

I have no answer for that question but when their deadline is up to submit a defence just get judgement by default. I found their defence was paying up.

Still no cheque and they only have till tonight to put in a defence. Looks like I could be the first to enter a default against A&L!

Wooooooohooooooooo.
I took the bull by the horns this morning and e-mailed the Chief Exec of A&L, basically saying they had till close of business today and I was aware they had never submitted one before so I regard this as stalling tactics and I would be claiming a default against them.
Never, ever, for one second did I expect a reply, but at 3.45 I got a an e-mail saying the cheque was in the post today!!!!!! 15 minutes before close of business!!
If anyone wants the e-mail for the chief exec or the legal department do not hesitate to contact me, this gets results!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the e-mail richard.pym@alliance-leicester.co.uk
Don't expect a direct reply but it will get past on to the relevant department and acted on!
Once you get the intent to defend letter it's worth dropping a line to Sarah.Llewellyn@alliance-leicester.co.uk too. One of the solicitors at the legal department.

Well done! Looks like there is a rapidly growing band of people succeeding against the A&L. Wait for account closure, though. I am just finishing a stinging letter of complaint about the threat of closure and will post it on my thread over next day or so. Well done once again. Wooooooohooooo!
