Talking New Starter - Abbey

Hi all,

My partner and I have just started proceedings (after watching Tonight With TMD) with letters to abbey head office requesting copy's of all our charges in the last 6 years. We have been disapointed for some time but did not think it possible to do anything about it.
We will keep you updated on every step.

Wish us luck

Hiya,

I too have decided to begin the process of claiming back all charges from Abbey following the London Tonight programme with TMD. I have prepared my Data Protection Act letter, but am abit hesitant about the effects with will have on my account as all my bills are paid through this account. But I'm determined not to let all my money go to waste so will be sending off my DPA letter with £10 to begin the process..

Good luck - I'm sure we'll need it!!!!

I seem to have an issue as they are holding the wrong address details for me and are refusing to communicate with me untill they are updated. Sorry for taking so long for the reply but I have just got married and that was slightly more important.
I also would like some advice as since my innital letter my overdraft has increaed to £950-. I am reluctant to pay this as the charges this year alne are over £1500 but have now recieved a letter with the following.

It has not been possible to reach a suitable payment arrangement, all direct debits and other banking services linked to this account have been cancelled. Untill you pay this money back, you'll be charged interest at the unauthorised overdraft rate.

They have asked to return all my cards and are threating me with a field recover agent. Can someone please advise on the best course of action to take???

Any advise on this matter would be most appreciated.
