Abbey - got a court date

I have a claim with Abbey for approx £1800. I have already received offer from them for £900 with someone else's address and court claim details ! I turned this down. Have now had notice following submission of allocation questionnaire for what is described as a Preliminary Hearing. The Abbey defence of two plus pages suggests that I am subject to their terms and conditions etc. I sent the draft order of directions as recommended on the site with the AQ. It would seem that it has already been allocated to Small Claims Track

Would appreciate someone who has gone ahead of me with Abbey for some advice as to how best to prepare for this preliminary hearing - do I need to send anything in advance to court or take stuff along. If I am taking material along - what is best to take? Is the Birmingham case affecting the response to Abbey? In my case they would seem to be quoting breach of contract. I didn't actually have an overdraft when I first had the account and in fact only had one when the penalty charges hit my account during a time when I was ill etc

I have two court in the next month so could really use some guidance

Bump for a mod on this one. Dont panic though..........nothing to worry about, theres lots of preliminary hearings going on with different banks. Just wait to see if you get any directions from court. If they want anything from you prior to the preliminary hearing, they will write to you and tell you so. Dont worry. You could always ring the court office and speak to the staff there, theyre usually very very helpful, you could ask if theres anything you need to submit prior to the hearing, but my personal opinion is that theres no need.
