advice needed please....

sorry guys, new to this and feeling a wee bit nervous but need some advice on what action to take next. sent first letter to Abbey last week asking for refund of £330 charges incurred last month (yes just one month!) due to a lost wage cheque. used the letter from the Govan Law centre as it was the first one i came across before this site and in a fit of rage sent it off. received a reply from Dawn Hoyle, sounds like the usual template they use saying they will investigate, could take four weeks blah blah blah. just wondering what to do now, sit back and wait or send another letter? have been with abbey for four years, it's a joint account and have incurred a few charges here and there in the past but never to this extent. i'm not asking for all the other charges to be refunded, just this colossal one!

any advice???

Welcome to the forum, the more people we have on board the more strength we have to fight these unlawful charges. I am sure you have a great many questions, and would therefore advise that you to have a look at the FAQ's:

In the same section you will also find a step-by-step guide which will help you through the process. The most important thing to do though, is to spend time looking through the forum at the experiences of others.

It is advisable to spend at least two days doing this - I understand that you are in a hurry to get your money back - but time spent now in learning and understanding the process will benefit you later. It could also save you from making costly mistakes.
