Hi everyone I am fighting my battle with Abbey (It's like bank addicts annonimous!) since october. I found this forum as I don't want to let bastards get away with the practise and customers service they provide with our money!Sooo...before I found out about this site I was doing all the "regular procedure" went to the branch, wrote the letters,am now dealing with equaly incompetent service of the Financial Ombudsman as my "favorite" friends at Abbey National charged me over £2000 charges since september!!!I just downloaded and sent the letter already drafted by wonderful people running this site and it's me or them...and I am planning to be the last woman standing!!!
I bought some things over the ebay and payed by paypal, the unfortunate thing was my dad died I had to go back home and finance the whole funeral and the rest+I obviously wasn't in the country so therefore coudn't check what is happening with the account. In the meantime all the do's for paypal came through around 8 of them( each for no more then £12) and they bounced me off my overdraft of £900. Then they decided to charge me various charges and decided that once should be do of £30 and the other once so of£32,yet it was all on the same paypal do. I wrote to them and went there, and the charges were still going up. Then it all culminated at £2000 and I took my friend who is english, journalist and a businessman to witness what I will go through. I asked to speak to the Manager, she lasted for 1/2 hr by which point I was in tears and she passed me to another one who closed the account as he was requested by me, cut my cards and torn my chequebooks and said that between us Abbey used to be a peoples bank and they were at loss so they won't be sorry if they loose people who don't bring a fair amount of money in!!Fab!!
So now I am on the crusade!!!I would love to get in touch with the guy who took them to court cuz I am on the way. Was his name Stephen Hone?Does anyone have more details on this pls? Would love to hear any suggestions....I am quite "millitant" by now hahaha! Take care!
