Default Bank Charges Re Claim

I started my campaign to re claim my money from Abbey last year January, I was expecting £3000 from abbey. In March 2007 they refunded £700 back to me. On the same day they debited my account with %£560 because i was overdrawn due to bank charges on my account.
Can I still go ahead and challenge Abbey? Help needed please

Hi Dawalex,

Sorry I do not understand you took abbey to court and accepted £700 of £3000 or they just put it in your account?

Did you S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) them? Did you letter before action them? Etc,

Please type us the exact proceedings and someone will be along to help.

Welcome by the way,

Penfold

Based on my calculation I was expecting £3000 from them .I did take them to court this was after my 1st letter to abbey. I just saw that that after my 1st letter they paid that £700 to my account. Abbey did not write any letter to me as to regard to the payment and I did not call nor write them that I have accepted the money/offer

OK, we are getting somewhere now, did you sign anything to say you were accepting it as settlement or did they write to you about it? Did you ever S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) them?

Did you submit the N1 court claim or just send them this 2. Letter - Preliminary approach for repayment. ?

In that case do not worry about whatever they put into your account. Start theprocess from the beginning and pretned you never got a penny from them. They will soon correct you if they want to.

First step is to S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) them, work your charges out on the spreadsheets then Letter Before Action them.

Once you have done all that, and it will take a while you will be in a position to issue a court claim against them and start things officially. You would probably not get away with your previous actions and also how did you you work out you were owed £3000 roughly? Did you keep every statement?

Hope that helps a bit,

I ordered my last six years statements and I used the spreadsheets I downloaded from this site to do the calculation.
