Default A question of dates

Hi,

Abbey has taken almost £4,000 in charges, so I am about to send the letter off.

Stupidly I started this last year and then left it. In 2001 they took over £300 which I did include in my original calculation.

Do I need to remove 2001 now we are in 2008?

Also can I include the interest they took from my account being overdrawn due to the charges coming out?

Many Thanks

Thanks Lula. I wish I hadnt left it so long now, but better late than never.

I will remove 2001 and send the letter off.

Then can start Jean vs Abbey

lol Oh great. I can keep 2001, thanks

Also, the process seems to have changed since I last did this.

So I send the initial letter with a spreadsheet of all charges but don't include the 8% interest?

Is that right. I'm not too clear.

I'll pretend I know what an N1 is lol

Ok well so I send the spreadsheet just detailing the evils they have done together with PRELIMINARY APPROACH FOR REPAYMENT LETTER .

This is my first step.

Correct?

Thats what I am reading lol I think I have gone into meltdown reading all the statements. Abbey seem to have some weird date ordering on the early printouts. It skips back and fourth.

Ok I have found the simple steps thread. That is much better.

Sorry you must get this all the time from newbies. I do appreciate your patience.

How on earth does someone 'run up' £4000 worth of charges??? You would think after the first few that you would perhaps organize your finances better?

As an Abbey Employee, I think that you know, very well, how easy it is to rack up that order of charges.

Re: Bank Cashiers? Do they sell to?
Only just joined this forum as im getting really fed up with where i work. Abbey cashiers or CSA's as they are known do indeed have targets. Each day they must make a minimum of 4 referals. That means either booking an appointment or the customer sees someone on the spot. Failure to continually meet these targets will lead to you being 'performance managed'. Their bonus scheme is linked to their referals and % over target. They also are required to fill out various questionnaires while you are at the counter. These will cover savings, mortgages etc. On some days they will have a 'race day' and gain prizes for doing the most.

Re: Abbey Appalling Customer Service
I work for Abbey. Im not surprised at the trouble you are having. Myself and my colleagues are at our wits end with the way we have to do things. The Indian call centre contract was supposed to have ended in May and we were told that it was being moved back to the UK.

Im not sure if this right section to vent my anger as an employee but there are so many things that are wrong and they prevent us from doing a proper job. As a member of staff im disgusted with the way the customer is treated and that there is little we can do. It is not the staffs fault that we cant serve the customer in the manner they deserve as we are not given the right tools to do the job.
So given your insider knowledge, how about you telling us how easy it is to run up unlawful penalty charges?

Regards, Rooster.

I wouldnt of if Abbey had taken into account the fact I was near deaths door at the time and perhaps had allowed me to pay the initial money back over time like all the other organisaions did, instead of taking a huge lump sum out which then sent the account into a downward spiral from then on in.
