Microfiche covered under Data Protection Act?

Hi,
I made my Data Protection Act request to Abbey on 6th March. I waited 47 days (giving them a weeks grace) and wrote again asking for the same information on 26th April. Then on the 8th June I received 12 statements for the last year and told that the others on Microfiche are not covered by DPA. I wrote back saying that I was aware that they'd supplied other with information from Microfiche. Today (24th June) I got a letter saying that whilst the information on Microfiche is not covered by the DPA, they're going to send it to me anyway (letter at www.dunnhq.com/Data Protection Act.png).
They say that they're not able to provide a 'computer printout', so what are they going to send me? Will I need a Microfiche reader to go through and see what they've been charging me?!

After 110 days since my initial letter, and with only 12 recent statements sent (which I had anyway), do you think I should wait to see what I get from them or should I just sent my compaint to the 'Information Commissioner' and the FSA?

Cheers,

Steve

Default Re: Microfiche covered under Data Protection Act?

I've just sent this e-mail to complaints@abbey.com
-------------------
Thank you for your letter dated 22 June 2006, a copy of which is attached.

Could you confirm that you have rejected my Data Protected Act request which was requested on 6th March 2006 (110 days ago)?

Could you also confirm in what format the records from Microfiche will be sent? (I am hoping that I do not need to purchase a Microfiche machine to determine the unlawful charges you have imposed on my account).

Finally, could you confirm the time-span referred to in the letter as ‘due course’?

Steve Dunn.

Have a read of the FAQ on this subject. There are a number of us (me included) who have started separate legal proceedings to force Abbey to comply. There are several threads here about it. My one at the top of the forum starts with Abbey's defence to my claim. Alanfromderby's starts slightly earlier in the process. Please have a read and post back with any questions.
