i have just rang abbey requesting statements for the last 5 years (the length that i have been with abbey) i am getting very woried as they agreed straight away to sending them although it can take from 3-5 working weeks, but they claimed that there was no charge for this service! have abbey suddenly become a caring bank or have they just dismissed my request-to be sure that they realised that i wanted the statements i rang twice!!!
can anyone please help- this is the first step in a long process but i am excited to know that in the end i will see my (edit) money

| | Site Team | Re: stuart v abbey I would suggest that it is very unlikely you will get the statements anytime soon. The best advice is to have a good read of the FAQ's and the step-by-step guide - then spend a couple of days reading the Abbey thread.
After that I would suggest you send a Data Protection Act request along with the £10 fee - you may then still have to push them, but you will be able to use the legal process to apply the necessary pressure.
