Unbelievable!!!

Hi, I am new to the Abbey forum, having been successful with reclaiming my charges with NatWest.
I had an account with Abbey about 7 years ago, but due to their charges, I managed to get £494 overdrawn and they closed the account. Shortly afterwards, we moved house and Abbey never chased us up for the debt.
I sent off my S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) letter to Abbey about a week ago, asking for statements for the duration of the account so that I could start my claim. But what turned up in the post today?!! 2 letters from 2 different debt collection agencies chasing the debt!! Cheeky b******s!!!
Do I carry on with my claim and ask Abbey to send my statements out ASAP?!

if you have not paid/acknowledged the debt, it becomes statute barred after 6 years
