Hi

Excellent site, a friend received a big cheque recently so I thought I'd have some of that. Rung Abbey 05.06.06 to request 6 months statements, advised cost is £15.00 which I authorised them to take from my account. Phoned today about something else and just checked it was going through and told should receive them in next 7 days, if I don't receive them I'll send the DTA form.

Hi and welcome

Please read the FAQ's and around the forum .You need to spend a few days doing this so you get a full understanding of what you are undertaking.

Why have you only asked for 6 months statements and not 6 years ?

I know it's only £5 but if You would of sent a DPAR the maximum it would cost you is £10.

If you start your claim then I strongly advise to keep your corrospondence to letters unless you record all your phone calls .

keep us posted

Hi,

Sorry I didn't just ask for 6 months, it was 6 years, miss typed previously. Abbey actually charged £15 for this, I asked over the phone as a friend had done this and it worked. I have the persons name and department who I requested them from and when I phoned last week it was showing on my records of when it was requested. I wasn't asked what I want it for so hopefully I'll receive them.

The only trouble is now they have no "official" deadline they can give you the run around and you haven't got much recourse, I hope you do receive them if you dont then you may have to go for the Data Protection Act route so you can at least bring pressure to bear

Hi, I have been bogged down with other things recently and haven't pushed this, another friend recently received a big cheque so I am going to push to get this sorted. I sent the Data Protection Act letter on 30th June and received 12 months worth of statements (twice!!). I have since received the microfiche letter, "Unfortunately, we are unable to supply a list of charges applied to your account for the last six years because we do not store this information separately from other transactional data. We can supply a list of the transaction on your account, which will include any cahges applied. I would like to advise you that under a Data Protection Act request, you will only receive the transaction that are currently held on our systems. These will be forwarded to you within 40 days, free of charge, under separate cover. Any earlier transactions have been archieved onto microfiche, whihc is not covered by the Data Protection Act. These archieve transactions willnot therefore be supplier to you under a Data Protection Act request and will not be subject to the 40-day ruling".

I read this that I should receive the additional statements, however, 52 days later and I have no received anything else.

I have been looking at the site and step by step instuctions and think it is time to send the non-compliance letter, has anyone been through this who can advise?
